Rescue Now! Think Later.

Mission Paws’ible was born in 2015 in response to the many call outs by people finding abandoned pups, dogs, cats and kittens in terrible conditions, all over the globe. With two key philosophies driving us we are creating a community to help save more lives.

BECAUSE EVERY RESCUE
MISSION IS POSSIBLE!

We’ve set out to create a trusted network of people to ensure we can help as many animals as we can. However, rescue is not cheap and there are many financial hurdles we need to get over!

To overcome the financial burden of rescuing sick, injured and abandoned animals we devised a business plan with an online store that allows consumers to buy cool product and know their hard earned cash is also being used to help animals in need. WIN WIN!

Not only that, our network can expand thanks to social media and collaborating with influencers and product makers. This will expand our reach, our story and our philanthropic influence on other rescuers.

To help reduce our spend we have created strong relationships with local vets who offer discounted services for rescued animals and also donated food from top brand pet supply companies. In return we promote their services and encourage our adopters, their potential clients, to use their services. This holistic approach, in turn, helps everyone involved.

In addition to our social enterprise we create fundraise specific campaigns for individual cases to be sure we can cover their medical and rehabilitation needs. Through the story telling of each animal our donors become connected to these animals and can celebrate with us the incredible journey of the animals they are helping. 100% donations are used on the animal they pledge on, that is our promise to you.

OUR STORY

Mission Paws’ible was created in 2015 with one mission:

To connect like minded people saving animals lives – and so a community was born.

There’s no ‘short’ story to how I found myself settled on a tropical island surrounded by my personal rescued pets (4 dogs and 1 cat) and continue to meet incredible animals, fellow rescuers and amazing people from all walks of life and industries.

My name is Prue. I was born-and-bred in Melbourne, Australia (with a short stint in a little country town called Barham, NSW). I’ve spent time living in London and Sydney working for clients from all over the world. My paying occupation is Graphic Design and I run my own online creative agency We Create.

Many people ask ‘Why are you saving animals?’

I get it. It’s hard to understand why a young (well I was young at the time) girl would give up her successful career in graphic design to save sick and mangey animals. To give up the glamour and the cushy life of the corporate world and find myself stopping my scooter, hot, sweaty, and disheveled, to collect a little pup with no hair and awkwardly work out how to transport it from it’s location to the vet.

‘Why’ is the common question. ‘Why not?’ is my answer

So where did it all begin?

After 15 years in the design industry my partner and I decided it was time to throw on the back-pack and explore mother earth and see what we could find.

I wasn’t looking for anything, but I found my purpose.

Spending time in Nepal, India, Malaysia, Thailand and finally Indonesia I saw many animals suffering and wanted to help. But how?

After 12 months of globe trotting we landed in Bali where I spent nearly 2 years offering my design and marketing services pro-bono to several animal projects but I quickly realised the charity model isn’t quite cutting it. Donations are awesome, but they solve our problems for a fleeting moment, or for that one animal, but what about the other 10 about to come through our virtual doors?

Despite the blood, sweat and tears we invest into rescuing animals we never seem to have enough money.  We are perpetually calling for donations or creating more online fundraisers – a key way to fund our rescues.

So it got me thinking. Why not create a sustainable profitable business coupled with the charity model? Supporters can choose to help a certain animal, make a general donation or buy something from our online store with 100% profits helping animals in need. We aim to give customers a cool product, a feel good moment PLUS their purchase helps fund rescued animals and ultimately the human community!

And so, Mission Paws’ible became a ‘thing’ and today we have helped over 150 animals in our first solid year of operations. And that’s just in my ‘spare’ time.

Through this very website we have raised thousands of dollars that have been used for many animals we have personally saved, animals helped by others and supporting teams across the island.

I am making it my mission to be sure all donations are transparent and we continue to develop this site to show clear fundraising details, goals and money donated is visually accounted for.

We have also launched our online store which stocks pet accessories handmade in Bali. Through this project we have create the Circle of Giving™, which means when you buy from us you not only help animals in need but the local community through employment.

We want your pets to help the animals in need. How paw’some is THAT!

I would like to thank everyone that has been part of this journey with me. Those that have believed in me, my passion and that ‘every rescue mission is possible!’.

I have MANY ideas still bubbling away with the ultimate goal of helping the homeless and encouraging adoption through educating the community (globally) about animal welfare and enjoying our time with our furry friends.

Many thanks for all your continued support.

OUR PARTNERS

We are proud to be supported by, and collaborating with, the following registered charities.

Animal Welfare is a frightening landscape to tackle, so we choose not to tackle it alone. That’s why we are now affiliated with three registered and well respected charities.

Yayasan Proyek Peduli

Yayasan Proyek Peduli (Project Care) is a registered and certified Indonesian charity focusing on animal and human welfare through education, activation and empowerment of the local community.

Together, we are working on our Village Education Program designed to improve animal and human health, welfare, relationships and environment.

Global Canine Cavalry

Global Canine Cavalry (GCC) is a registered 501c3 non-profit organisation which means our US supporters can make TAX DEDUCTIBLE donations! Win win!

GCC’s mission is to help dogs in distress and to raise awareness about the bond between mankind and canines in an effort to prevent the needless killing of dogs in both the US and overseas.

Bali Pet Crusaders Logo

Bali Pet Crusaders

Bali Pet Crusaders (BPC) is a registered DGR listed Australian charity that assists in dog and cat population control via their mobile sterilisation program.

Their work is nothing short of amazing and that is why Mission Paws’ible proudly funds the monthly salary of their Junior Vet (AU$400 per month). We believe prevention is better than cure, therefore stopping the population growth before it has began is key to stopping the suffering of so many innocent little beings.

IN THE MEDIA

Reaching out to the media and having our story told helps us all to continue to speak for the voiceless.

Bali Advertiser March 2018

It is difficult to escape the fact that many dogs on the island are malnourished, sick or have not been sterilized. One organization is trying to change this by providing rehabilitation, and homes for sick, abandoned and injured dogs and puppies. Mission Paws’ible aims to educate people about the importance of vaccinations and sterilization, and provides support to individuals who rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home dogs and puppies. “Mission Paws’ible was born in 2015 as an idea that gradually grew into a community. Its main focus is to connect like minded people, animal lovers and rescuers to work together to save lives through collaboration and support,” says the organization’s founder Prue Barber. “We face a lot of daily challenges, such as lack of funds to support vaccinations, sterilization and general health checks for dogs. The biggest challenge, however, is finding them the homes they deserve. There are so many abandoned dogs and puppies, and only so many people who can take them in.” Read More

AA Indonesia 2018

Through a Facebook page called Mission Pawsible, Prue found a suitable home for the abandoned dogs.

“It’s sort of like a matchmate, but especially for dogs,” Prue said.

The woman admitted that she often spend her own money to treat, mevaksinasi and improve the nutrients and health of dogs that often found in conditions of ‘have a bad temper’ or suffer from skin diseases.

When the dog is back friendly and cheerful, Prue upload their photos on social media and see if anyone is interested in adopting a dog.

“I encourage my friends to pick up and do not buy dogs, firstly because the buying and selling industry is less healthy, secondly because many dogs are thrown away and need love,” Prue explained.

The problem with the abundance of abandoned dogs found in Bali, he argued, stems from a lack of owner insight into how to care for dogs.

The Jakarta Post 2018

All animals deserve the chance to go on a journey of rescue to recovery. They belong in a family that can give life-long commitment and unconditional love; and to be one of them is to first understand what adoption truly means.

What is adopting and why should I adopt?
Where there are millions of homeless, neglected, mistreated and abused animals but not enough homes, adoption gives these animals a second chance.

Before settling in a permanent home, they enjoy time in foster care. Mission Paws’ible founder Prue Barber uses this time to get insight into what they need for the future and to match the right pet to the right lifestyle, family and budget. “This is something breeders or pet shops do not offer because they are only interested in money and not the welfare of the animal, nor you, the pet owner,” she said.
