EXCLUSIVE: THE AUSSIE WOMAN ON A MISSION TO HELP BALI’S ‘UN-ADOPTABLE DOGS’

Ms Barber, 40, from Melbourne, had already started rescuing dogs on the holiday island, which has tens of thousands of stray dogs and cats as well as pets – although some of them are kept in horrifying conditions or just left to wander.

She’d helped out at an existing dog charity before starting to rescue animals herself.

‘I MADE A PROMISE TO TWIGGY’: HOW AN AUSTRALIAN WOMAN’S SELFLESS ATTEMPT TO SAVE A STREET DOG IN BALI LED TO HER HELPING HUNDREDS OF DESPERATE STRAYS

THIS DOG RAN AWAY FROM AN ILLEGAL MEAT FARM IN BALI, WE HELPED HER HEAL AND FOUND HER A HOME

This innocent girl was found lying in a gutter in Bali, starving, half-dead. Her mouth was taped shut, and her back legs were tied together with a shoelace.

Like so many others, Mo was the victim of the illegal dog meat trade that still operates in Bali. Unlike so many others, Mo was considered lucky. It is believed little Mo fell off the back of the dog meat catcher’s bike and scuttled into a drain, where she hid for two weeks. Thank God.

WE FOUND A DOG WITH A HOLE IN HER HEAD, TREATED HER, AND FOUND HER A HOME

Michi may look like a gorgeous, cuddly teddy bear, but she didn’t always look this way. When we found Michi, she was wandering the streets of Bali with a life-threatening and painful head injury.

SHARING THE LOVE

Share the Love is a heartfelt interview series celebrating the everyday heroes behind Bali’s animal rescue movement. These are the solo rescuers — ordinary people doing extraordinary things — who give their time, love, and limited resources to save animals in desperate need.

Through honest and emotional conversations, each interview reveals their personal journeys, the animals they’ve rescued, and how Mission Pawsible’s support has helped them keep going. It’s raw, real, and deeply human — a reminder that The Pack Challenge is built on love, community, and the power of people who simply refuse to give up.
