Together, we can save them all!

our mission

COLLABORATION IS KEY TO SAVING MORE LIVES! WE CAN SAVE THEM ALL THROUGH INDIVIDUALS, SOLO RESCUERS, RESCUE TEAMS, MEDICAL ASSISTANCE, AND OUR SUPPORTERS WORKING TOGETHER.

By working with our international charity partners in Australia, the USA, and Indonesia, our mission is to support, educate, inspire, and activate individuals to rescue, rehabilitate, rehome, and adopt animals in need. We strive to stop the suffering of stray animals, reduce pet dumping, and eradicate rabies on the island. We help many animals with rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing. We also share the love by distributing donated food, medicine, and financial assistance to trusted individuals who dedicate their time to helping those most in need.

OUR VISION

TO ENGAGE COMPASSION WITHIN THE HUMAN RACE WE MUST CREATE EMPATHY, LOVE, AND KINDNESS TO NURTURE HAPPY PETS IN SAFE HOMES.

Our ultimate goal is to support the local community and their animals, ensuring everyone is happy and united. To help stop the suffering of abandoned animals, we aim to reduce the stray animal population through mass sterilisation, eradicate rabies through vaccination initiatives and provide affordable veterinary care and medicines for the community’s animals when needed.

OUR STORY

MISSION PAWS’IBLE WAS CREATED IN 2015 WITH ONE
MISSION: TO CONNECT LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE SAVING ANIMA'S LIVES - AND SO A COMMUNITY WAS BORN.

Prue Barber, the founder and solo rescuer of Mission Paws’ible, shares her story of transitioning from a successful career in graphic design to dedicating her life to saving sick and injured animals.

Barber says, “After years of travelling and witnessing animal suffering in Nepal, India, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, I decided to take action.”

In Bali, Barber offered her design and marketing services pro bono to various animal projects but soon realised that the charity model needed a refresh to continue engaging with pet lovers of the 21st century. By implementing design and marketing strategies, she harnessed the prolific digital platforms that became available – Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Twitter.

Mission-PAwsible_About-Us_Our Story 2

In 2019, Mission Paws’ible was officially registered as a certified charity in Australia, allowing them to grow their donor base through transparent and tax-deductible fundraising, something fundamental to Barber.

“I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A PERFECTIONIST WHO DOESN’T LIKE TO ‘BREAK’ RULES. IT WAS PARAMOUNT THAT OUR CHARITY WAS LEGALLY REGISTERED IN AUSTRALIA TO ENSURE OUR DONORS KNOW WE ARE MONITORED BY A GOVERNMENT BODY, ENSURING WE ARE DOING EXACTLY WHAT WE SAY WE WILL DO WITH THEIR HARD-EARNED DONATIONS.”

Once Mission Paws’ible was certified, Barber focused on storytelling about the animals she rescued. She filmed the process from rescue through rehabilitation and took her followers on the journey. Shortly after this, she garnered a close relationship with video editors at The Dodo, who promoted the rescued dogs’ stories, which in turn helped grow their audience, adoptions, and ultimately, donations.

As momentum grew, so did her vision. Barber wanted to save, help, and reduce the suffering on her island home. She set out to find land on which to build The Healing Centre.

In 2024, this dream became a reality, and The Healing Centre opened.

Today, The Healing Centre is fully operational and caring for 25+ animals at once.

“MY STORY ISN’T OVER,” BARBER SAYS. “THERE ARE STILL MANY PROJECTS WE WOULD LIKE TO IMPLEMENT IN BALI, INCLUDING MASS STERILISATION OF STRAY AND OWNED ANIMALS TO REDUCE THE STRAY POPULATION, MASS VACCINATION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT TO ERADICATE RABIES, A MOBILE VET SERVICE TO SUPPORT THOSE NEEDING HELP ON AN ISLAND THAT IS HARD TO NAVIGATE, AND A MOBILE APP TO HELP MONITOR STRAY DOGS AND CATS.”

EXCLUSIVE: THE AUSSIE WOMAN ON A MISSION TO HELP BALI’S ‘UN-ADOPTABLE DOGS’

Ms Barber, 40, from Melbourne, had already started rescuing dogs on the holiday island, which has tens of thousands of stray dogs and cats as well as pets – although some of them are kept in horrifying conditions or just left to wander.

She’d helped out at an existing dog charity before starting to rescue animals herself.

‘I MADE A PROMISE TO TWIGGY’: HOW AN AUSTRALIAN WOMAN’S SELFLESS ATTEMPT TO SAVE A STREET DOG IN BALI LED TO HER HELPING HUNDREDS OF DESPERATE STRAYS

Prue Barber, 40, made the move from Melbourne to Bali with her boyfriend Linus Dean, 43, after a visit inspired her to rescue abandoned dogs.

THIS DOG RAN AWAY FROM AN ILLEGAL MEAT FARM IN BALI, WE HELPED HER HEAL AND FOUND HER A HOME

This innocent girl was found lying in a gutter in Bali, starving, half-dead. Her mouth was taped shut, and her back legs were tied together with a shoelace.

Like so many others, Mo was the victim of the illegal dog meat trade that still operates in Bali. Unlike so many others, Mo was considered lucky. It is believed little Mo fell off the back of the dog meat catcher’s bike and scuttled into a drain, where she hid for two weeks. Thank God.

WE FOUND A DOG WITH A HOLE IN HER HEAD, TREATED HER, AND FOUND HER A HOME

Michi may look like a gorgeous, cuddly teddy bear, but she didn’t always look this way. When we found Michi, she was wandering the streets of Bali with a life-threatening and painful head injury.
