Found Outside a School
Mission Paws’ible founder Prue was passing a local school in Bali when she spotted something tiny moving in the trash. It was Sadie, just six weeks old, emaciated and hairless, dumped in the school’s garbage bin. The moment Sadie noticed she’d been seen, she ran.
Prue followed. Sadie didn’t get far. She tripped over herself and collapsed onto her back, mouth still open, the same way a gecko freezes when caught. As Prue has described it, that was Sadie’s only defence mechanism. She had nothing else left to protect herself with.
A Rocky Start to Recovery
Sadie was taken straight to the vet, where treatment began. Her early recovery was far from smooth. It was, in Prue’s words, really up and down. But somewhere in those uncertain first days, Prue could see how much Sadie needed love and nurture, and that was the moment she decided to bring her home for good.
Home didn’t mean instantly calm. Sadie arrived with a real attitude, a tiny street fighter down to her bones. It took time, patience, and no pressure at all for Sadie to be ready to let anyone in.
The Moment Everything Changed
One evening, Prue simply sat on the ground to be near her. No agenda, no pushing. Sadie came over on her own and curled up in Prue’s lap. It was their first truly bonded moment, and Sadie was the one who chose it.

Kind of a Big Deal
Today, Sadie lives happily with Prue and the rest of her rambunctious rescued pack. Prue describes her as a soul dog, a kindred spirit, and honestly, a bit of a miracle. Sadie will tell you herself that she’s kind of a big deal now. She’s not wrong.
